Pulau Ubin

Pulau Ubin is a small island just outside the coast of Singapore. It takes about twenty minutes to reach it with a bumboat and it is like travelling through time. The laid back atmosphere reminds about the old Singapore with its traditional villages, or kampong. We hired bikes and went on a small tour to the Chek Jawa Wetlands where we encountered the famous Hornbill and also a few lizzards! After two hours of biking and walking, we headed back to the small village near the ferry terminal and had a wonderful Hawker lunch, overlooking the sea and Singapore on the opposite side. We made it back just in time to pick up the kids from school!

Yesterday, I got the inivation to that birthday party I thought we were not invited to... Apparently the whole class was invited but quite a few of the inviations most have gone missing. So tomorrow after school, I and Elias are off to Singapore Swimming Club for a Strawberry Shortcake party! Having more or less begged to be invited, I feel like I have to turn up, despite the very bad timing, a late Friday afternoon when Id rather sit home sipping on a glass of wine.

This afternoon, our British neighbour invited us for tea and cupcakes. The kids played and us three mums were trying to have a conversation despite all the noise. I spent most of the time chasing Joli around, preventing her from either smashing their windows or slapping one of the little boys in the face...

Husband is getting back late this night and I am trying to stay up and wait for him. We will see if I manage!

  1. Hej gumman!

    Minna
