When it rains in Dubai, it always creates a minor chaos. Not only because most people dont know how to drive on wet roads (aqua planning, keeping distance etc etc) but also because even main roads easily become flooded, this due to to the citys lack of proper drainage system. Well, you cant blame them, this is a desert country, it is not supposed to rain that much, but now it is.... This morning, as I was stuck in traffic as usual on my way to work, I managed to catch a few scenes with my camera. You have to entertain yourself in those endless traffic jams... I pass by a large industrial area called Al Quoz, mainly factories and industries but also residential buildings for the guest workers. The other expats, not those who live in fancy Jumeirah Beach Residence and drive around in four wheel cars, or shop til they drop at The Dubai Mall, but those workers from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, who work for peanuts and live in dirty ghetto like compounds.
