This is my third week as a full timer and I am still enjoying myself. Though, there is not much time for photography or any other hobbies for that matter. The first weekend in February, we went for a lovely brunch at JW Marriott Hotel in Deira. My friend C turned 30, which called for celebration! We met at 12.00 pm and left at 4 pm.. quite stuffed and a bit tipsy! A lovely buffet with mainly Asian food, sushi and sashimi, vegetable wok with noodles, all sorts of sea food, especially mussels fried in garlic sauce, incredibly delicious! Included in the price of 295 dhs are free drinks, wine, beer, G&T, soft drinks... so needless to say, I was a bit plastered when we got home and continued the celebration at our house. Our guests left at 9 pm, only to be replaced by a neighbour who popped in for drinks, but by that time, I had had enough and went to bed.
Following day, we went to a birthday party, I felt a bit tender after the brunch but managed to run a few errands while Elias was enjoying himself at the party. The rest of the evening was very quiet.
This week, my mother and hubby's aunt are here to celebrate Aunt M's birthday. She turned 60 last Friday and today, Sunday, we are taking her out to dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel. Apparently the buffet there is supposed to be very good so I am looking forward to indulge myself in more sinful eating and drinking. And speaking about sinful, yesterday I and friend E went to my favourite market place, Karama, where I manage to buy myself another handbag for work... The price was good so why not just give in??? It was my Valentines treat! After the shopping, we went for some Chinese/Indian food at a small cafe that looked less than tempting but the food was just divine!! I guess it is like everywhere else in the world, it is in those small and almost God forsaken restaurants, hidden away on the backstreets, where you find the best food!
Hubby arrived this morning with a Valentines gift though, an external harddrive for my computer. Beats any jewellery from Tiffany's...
