Today we went to Umm Al Qwein, one of the smaller Emirates north of Dubai to do some quad biking. It was amazing! This place was exceptionally good, with only the desert as a limit of how far you could go. Up and down the sand dunes! My son was guiding me through the path, deliberately slowing down so that I could follow him. I felt old... I am being led through the desert by my six year old... After getting used to the soft sand, I braved up a little bit and tried to speed up, did my own little tours up and down the sandy hills. It was really fun!
We spent yesterday at home, with only a short walk to the nearby park as the excursion of the day. However, we discovered some really nice restaurants, only a walkings distance from our house and to our enormous joy, a Swedish Pizzeria is opening soon! Yes, you got it right, Swedish Pizza! I am hoping for the concept of pizza and pizza salad, cause I have crush on pizza salad, and it doesnt matter how I try to make that cabbage salad at home, it doesnt taste the same! So, we will just have to wait and see!
Since I dont have any new photos at all (well I do, but I have to edit them first...) I found some old ones from my trip to Cambodia last year, a trip that still qualifies as one of my Best Trips ever.
Tomorrow Sunday was supposed to be a Public Holiday, but they changed it for the Private sector to Saturday (which is the ordinary weekend anyway) and made Sunday a Public Holiday for the Public Sector, major confusion, only in Dubai this can happend... Schools and banks are closed, but the rest of us mortal people have to get back to work.
