I apologize for lack of news. After moving house, all the air just went out of me and I have been quite tired lately. I have also started a computer course twice a week (after work hours, from 7-9 pm) so I tend to come home quite late and I am absolutely shattered.
The Excel course is good, I am learning a lot, despite the after- work- not- so- sharp- state of mind. But since the kids are away (still) and husband has been working a lot, why rush home to an empty house?
Husband and I planned for a romantic getaway to Oman, which turned into a lunch buffe at Hatta Fort Hotel. The hotel was really nice and the food as well, though I got a bit ill and we drove back to Dubai and I think I slept through the entire weekend.
Last weekend though, I had a bit of Me-time and went to Mumbai for three days. I have always wanted to visit India and now was the time! I arrived late to a rainy, monsoon humid and wet Mumbai. Traffic is mad and there are people everywhere. The hotel was a lovely, quite small but with nice rooms and a good location near Juhu Beach. I hired a hotel taxi for two days and were brought around town to visit a church, a Buddhist temple, a Hindu temple (Ganesha), some bookstores, a few department stores and good restaurants. Eventhough I spent a lot of time in the taxi, I still got the opportunity to get a good look at the city, the center had influences from the British rule with beautiful buildings which made you feel like you were in London (how strange....).
I bought a typical Indian tunic, or Kurta, as they call it. I also bought tea, a rug to hang on the wall and some books. Though the trip was very short, it was very interesting and it was nice to get away from the desert if only for a few days.
Next Friday I am off for Sweden for a well deserved vacation. I am looking forward to rain, cold weather and of course, to see the kids. I miss them so much!
