The expression "the grass is always greener on the other side" describes me quite well. I tend to miss and long for all other places except for the one I live it at the time... that is of course very bad, and I do try to enjoy every moment and live in the present but sometimes my mind just wonders off and starts dreaming! Now, after almost two years away from Singapore, I find myself missing this remarkable little island with its mixture of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu cultures and religions. The food, the "Makan" places, the Singlish, the Hawker Centers and their great food. I miss the tropical rain storms (we get more water from the sprinklers than from the sky here in the desert..) and the green and lush surroundings. Ah well, good thing one can remember through photos! Here are a few from China Town during Chinese New Year, a feast in colours and food, joyful for all people, Chinese or not!
