The thought of networking (and add some cheese and wine to that), cheered me up yesterday. I and friend T took a taxi to Media One Hotel, a quite new, modern hotel but still with a personal and intimate style, smack in the middle of Dubai Media City. We headed to the Cafe M where we decided to enjoy the cheese buffet. I love cheese and can eat pretty much of it but even I found my limit yesterday. The concept of a cheese buffet is great but I must admit I felt like a cheese myself after two plates. The lovely staff kept filling our glasses and they also brought additional hot dishes like fried cheese balls with chili sauce, cheese fondue and they were just about to serve a cheese souffle when we actually had to stop them. After the cheese, we headed to Zone Bar where the networking reception was held. As always, it was a rewarding evening with many new connections. While most people started to drop off around 10, a few of us decided to try the pool bar and smoke some shisha. It was quite cold and windy so the staff brought us some scarfs to wrap around ourselves. Around midnight, me and T decided to call it a night. It was husbands last training flight yesterday, and after some anxious waiting, I finally received a text from him, saying that he passed!!! So then I had to stay up until he got home and celebrate. Tonight we are having some people over for drinks, to celebrate even more. It is such a huge relief that it is over and I am very proud of him!
